After
a recipe "accident" on a small farm in Minnesota, Stan and Gladys
Friesen stumbled upon a phenomenal new use for corn! Glad Corn Snacks
are a great way to sneak in an extra treat--without the guilt. These
crispy corn snacks are preservative free and gluten free. There are
only three ingredients--field corn, non-hydrogenated soybean oil, and
salt, so they remain safe for almost anyone (including the
allergy-prone!).
Speaking of treats, Tierra Farm has yet another delicious way to
deliver almonds: cover them in dark chocolate. Tierra Farm's Dark
Chocolate Almonds make a delicious topping for soy, coconut, or regular
ice cream, or simply just a great way to cure your sweet craving.
Bola Granola is made close by in Monterey (Mass.), and is widely
enjoyed by those in the Berkshires. With its 20% almond mix, it makes
for a filling, hearthealthy, quick and easy breakfast.

White Chia (Salvia Alba), also known as Salba, is grown in Peru. Salba
Life's salvia seed is known for providing natural energy for the body
and promoting heart health. This all natural grain is seen by many as
nature's most powerful superfood. Salba is the only food that holds a
medical patent (60-274.256). The patent pertains to Salba's ability to
manage the effects of blood sugar regulation and the dietary approaches
to such management.

Across
from the new, local, frozen section rests a popular new tea. Numi Puerh
(pronounced "Pu-err") Tea comes from the leaves of old wild-crafted tea
trees, known as "broad leaf tea." These trees are housed in the Yunnan
Mountains of southwestern China. The leaves undergo a fermenting,
ripening and aging process that allows beneficial microorganisms and
nutrients to thrive. Numi makes Emperor's Puerh (black), Chocolate
Puerh, Mint Puerh, and Magnolia Puerh. Don't forget to check out Honest
Weight's bulk tea section housed quietly between the bulk and wellness
departments. Many of the teas are Fair Trade certified, and all are
fresh and unique!
